The Town Pump, Pebble Lane

Incredible to think that only 170 years ago the townsfolk relied on pumps like this & wells in the gardens for drinking water. We take piped water so much for granted.

This pump is in Pebble Lane which is a very narrow street running between St Mary's Square & Kingsbury which is one of the oldest areas of Aylesbury.

I love the different coloured bricks in this picture.
