Life is Like a Box of Chocolates

And this image should be on the front of the box. The light at the canal in mid afternoon as the sun was beginning to set was delicious. It bathed you one minute and the lack of it froze you the next. The long shadows stretched out far and the glare was blinding. I sat for quite a while, until my toes nipped and my nose dripped. All the while I was considering the fact that it was the 21st of November. So late in the year yet still we have glorious weather, albeit that you need to wrap up a little.

I spent most of the day enjoying the sweet things in life, chat in the morning which suggested lots of promise and a visit to another allotment later. It was the posh allotments in Inverleith. There were rules posted everywhere. Many allotments had boundary fencing, but nothing as basic as chicken wire; no, their boundaries were to establish their land not to keep out predators. I also noticed a couple of sheds with verandas. Now that is very civilised. I imaged a much older generation rocking on a chair as the sun went down calling on 'Martha' to fetch a glass of fresh lemonade.
