I have this thing about birch trees.

I saw one, recently, which was just "starting to turn". It looked rather bonny because, not only was it one of the very pendulous varieties, but it was also turning yellow in a rather patchy/picturesque sort of way. However, I spotted it from the car and have never seen its equal since and now it's WAY too late, as usual.
