TOIT-ELL!

Train not running today, so ended up taking three trains to get to Pamukkale instead armed with a feast of borek, pistachio nuts and dates to pass the time. Ended up getting a lift to our hotel with the hotel's driver, who hurtled down the back streets at over 100km/hr yelling things out the window to people in the street. 'Toit-ell, toit-ell, TOIT-ELL,' he screamed out to a tourist standing on the side of the road bent over photographing a turtle. The poor guy nearly jumped out of his skin.

Lazy afternoon. Lay in the courtyard by the pool reading my book, then we went for a walk to take some photos. Got mobbed by some kids keen to have their photos taken. Of course, we were only too happy to oblige. This girl was just captivating.

Deviation from recent dinners tonight. Wood-fired pizza and beer was on the menu, followed by free sweets all round as apparently today is a special day of Ramadan.

Up early in the morning to head up to the Travertines.
