Wind
It gets dark so early that it had to be a trip to just the local country park today once I had finished all the stuff I needed to get done. The first thing (other than the cold!) that I noticed as I neared the lake was the wind and the way it was blowing the reeds.
If they hadn't had strong roots they would have been halfway to somewhere else in the time it took to take a photo. Because their roots were well established they could bend with the wind, but remain safely planted. Makes me think that sometimes life can belike that for us. As the wind of current or personal events hit us we need to be firmly rooted to stay safe, although sometimes we need to bend and be flexible.
The apostle Paul writes in his letter to the church in Ephesus writes ...
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge – that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
