Giraffe Measuring Stick

Orla sizing herself up against the giraffe leg in Kelvingrove. 5 years old, 3ft 11 inches. Goodness me. We were in Kelvingrove on a school day because Orla was at the dental hospital this morning. They made an attempt at removing her supernumerary tooth. She actually sat really well for the anaesthetic but then she started to get a bit panicky about what was going on, so the dentist suggested we leave it and I agreed. It's not absolutely imperative that it comes out right now. We're going back in January to have the consultant review her case. You can see here that she has adapted her smile to hide it. She's become self-conscious about it.

So afterwards, we decided to go to Kelvingrove and have lunch then, then have a wander around the museum. It was such a lovely day, but freezing cold. We had a really nice lunch then went to see Orla's favourite thing in the museum, the bees. We talked a lot about the bees and why they weren't flying in and out of the hive.

Conor stayed with Gran and Papa and was a very good boy. He got a new cosy snowsuit out of our trip to Glasgow today.
