The Sleigh Belles Entertain Worthing......

lighting up the square in South Street performing "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" in the town centre! Violet describe themselves as a "show stopping high energy vocal harmony trio" and "perform songs from the 60's to the latest chart hits". During the Christmas season, they perform as The Sleigh Belles as in the picture. They seem to be based in the Worthing area and perform in many local venues and further afield. They have worked alongside a good number of famous names. It's always nice to hear live music when you are out and about. "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" also happens to be one of my favourite songs. A Motown song written by the late Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson, it was recorded by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell in 1967 and failed to chart in the UK until Diana Ross recorded it with a slightly different arrangement in 1970 when it did chart here. The Sleigh Belles performed the original 1967 version which with their rich harmonies more than did it justice, and as well as making the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, helped make my day!
