Adios

Back at the airport today to bid adios to our guests from Australia. Kelly lived with us as an exchange student 15 years ago (the second in what became a long line of 13 total) . It was wonderful to see her once again and to see what a great person she has become. You always wonder how a somewhat surly high school student will mature. With your own kids you have long-term control (in theory), with an exchange student you only have a few months in which to exert influence. We must have done a great job, because Kelly turned out to be awesome and her partner, Stu, was equally engaging. We hope we can convince other past exchange students to come visit, especially if they turn out to be as fun as Kelly and Stu.
