Not quite the end...
It gets to this stage of the term when there is so much going on, so much coming in and going out of my study that everything begins to pile up. Now, I admit to not being overly obsessive about keeping my room spotless, but even I looked at it today and thought "what a tip". It's not just the endless piles of paper that mount up (when will we be able to make tablets compulsory in schools so that everything can be done without reams of paper?), but as another string breaks on another guitar, my study is now turning into more of a ward for injured guitars than it is a place of music education and efficient administration. It's true purpose will remain however as my place of retreat when the staff room and lunch table become just too much. It is my home away from home (however sad that may sound) and I am so very lucky to have such a cosy space in which to complete my daily tasks.
