Memories in Pink

LeeAnn's Colour Challenge - Day 27 - Pink

I'm not a "girlie pink" loving person and so have very few pink objects in the house - not even my dolls house collection could help today.

Then I remembered these two little bears which I have had since I was a child and now live in the spare bedroom. They in turn reminded me of the goodies Mum often bought home from work. She worked for a company specialising in shipping insurance claims, and one of the perks was buying salvaged cargo at a very much reduced price. This ranged from the sort of stuff you now find in 99p shops, food items (perfectly edible, just a bit battered round the edges), to high-end electronics. I still have the stereo radio cassette player from her, which I think I bought out of my pocket money (so it must have been cheap!).

The bears were a little love token from her from that time, which have somehow managed to follow me around from leaving home for my first job, through university, bedsits, flat shares to eventually moving into my own house.
