X =1 Field x 4 Cows + 773 Pink-footed Geese!

In fact there wasn't room in the camera for the several thousand geese around this afternoon, munching hard on the ground or milling about in the sky, tumbling, falling, rising like so many black snow flakes in a high wind. The cows didn't mind. Chewing the cud takes your mind off things, apparently. Placid, are cows.

Normally, lying in bed in the early morning, we watch the Pink Foots coming in from the sea. Skein after skein. Delightful changing patterns. But this afternoon it was a Frenzy of geese… Not just a gaggle!
