How useful!

These upturned boats were originally used to catch Herring.Men went to sea in them in all weathers, bringing back the Herring which were cleaned and filleted by the women, before being smoked, becoming Kippers. Because they played such a large part in the life of the village, they have been preserved, and made into sheds, with doors on one end, and are used by todays fishermen and sailors.
