Brainwave
Obviously my boss' words are starting to sink in. We have been talking recently about not just doing things in a certain way just because that's how they have always been done. Also about critically reflecting on our practices and thinking of new and better ways to do things. I'm pretty sure this is what led me to a middle-of-the-night brainwave. My lounge never seems right. The furniture is too big for the long, narrow room. But a thought popped into my head in the night. Just because the dining room was a dining room when we arrived here, doesn't mean it has to stay that way! So this morning, I moved the dining room table into the one end of the long lounge near the sliding door. Then I moved the 2 smaller couches into the dining room and moved the big TV to the other end of the lounge with the big couch. It just works! Somehow, every time I move the furniture, it still just doesn't seem right. But this time, it seems to work so well and has created 3 welcoming spaces. The only problem now is deciding where we want to sit ;) The picture is of my "snug". Not sure of the origin of the word, but it seems right to me, a comfortable, cosy place to sit alone or with company :) Starting again: 14/365
