Crooked Cottage
I had another go at photographing the mists over the Bowood estate in the morning with slightly more success than earlier in the week, but it was a day with more photographic possibilities so I shall have to return to that scene later.
Later in the morning I went into Calne shopping. The Calne Winter Festival was taking place and there were various market stalls. After awhile I escaped to the calm of the churchyard for another look at the trees in their autumn colours, and then called on a friend for awhile. My return walk took me past the funfair, and I managed to survive almost two minutes of noise and crowds before dashing to the safety of Sainsbury's, but in that time I took eight pictures. I have chosen one of these to blip as it records an event specific to that day.

The Human Beinz - Nobody But Me (1967)
This Isley Brothers tune from 1963 was played a lot by sixties bands and was covered in the UK by the Mojos. This was the big hit version in the US a few years later, though did nothing here, and it was included on the prodigous Nuggets compilation. The Human Beinz updated the various dances in the lyric with new references to the Shingaling, the Skate, the Boogaloo, the Philly and so forth. The single is just the final refrain from the original Isleys' song, and is famous for repeating the words 'no' or 'nobody' a record number of times.
The version here is a stereo mix from the original 8-track tapes prepared in 2000 by Tom Moulton for an oldies stereo project and was never released commercially.
