Fallen leaves

December 1st and fallen leaves don't stop Crocus laevigatus as it takes crocus into the winter season. There are many different forms of this one, they flower from late autumn through to mid-winter here, sometimes even lingering until early spring. It's easily raised from seed and deserves to be more widely grown but it's only small so despite being hardy it needs careful siting. I have lots in pots under cold glass and quite a few, like this one, out in the open garden.
