Family excursion on a cloudy day

The weather was pretty dull today. Grey cloud blocked out the sun all day. With the warm temparature, the cloud layer seemed like a ceiling. It felt like we were inside.

Ol left in the morning for a flight to London. He is attending a party organised by the Irish Arts Council, a charity of which he is on the board. He'll be back tomorrow night.

Anne and I decided to have a separate excursion for the Jackson family today. We drove north past Begur and found ourselves at a Coastal resort called Estartit where we had lunch. I bought a newspaper and a map to help us decide where to go next.

We decided to go to a well preserved medieval village called Peratallada. I carried Orla in the bushbaby and this turned out to be a good decision as all the roads were cobbled. It was a lovely place with some lively looking restaurants. We wished we had held on for lunch and had it there.

As we left it began to rain but it was too early to go back to the villa so we took a scenic route through a forest. We headed back to the villa after visiting a supermarket to get tapas for dinner.

After a rest at the villa we drive down to Tamariu and had a walk up to the beach. It was very quiet compared to Saturday, extremely chilled out with the sound of the waves slapping against the rocks. We sat on a bench and watched the boats bob about. Orla wiggled in time with the boats.

On the way back we had a go on some swings and seesaw. Orla loved that.

The others got back from their trip to the dali museum quite late. We had masses of tapas for dinner followed by a game of triv.

Here's a link to some more photos of today.
