Fairytale of New-Canley

There's only one way to celebrate Christmas at number 169, and that's with port, cheese and a motherlovin' huge turkey! We were a bit behind schedule, so poor Rob was left to the cauliflower cheese, the nut roast and the turkey in my kitchen while I got ready. No pretensions here, I did bugger all! Just the washing up afterwards.

It was such a lovely afternoon and what a meal. Melon for starters, everything you could ever wish for on your main plate, three desserts (Christmas pudding, homemade Christmas cake and homemade mince pies - thanks to JJ and Mike) and a cheese board if you still had any room whatsoever. It's a shame everyone had to head off so early to make it for work the next day, but it really was so much fun. Card games were played, we found out some new things about certain people, and in the evening the boys and I fell into our food comas over The Emperor's New Groove. Such a good (Christmassy?) film. Such a lovely bunch of people, and so thankful for the amazing effort put in by everyone and the excellent hosts who organised it all. Well done lads!
