"Bread pudding?" the smiling waitress asked.

How could I say 'no' ? When it arrived with my coffee, the bread pudding was a deluxe version. It was covered with warm custard, sprinkled with dried cranberries and crowned with a scoop of vanilla ice cream drizzled with carmel.

I thought I could add some commentary about sugar consumption in the US and perhaps some interesting statistics referencing about the increase in the incidence of type 2 diabetes, obesity....but I think I will leave that for another time, another place.

P.S. The bread pudding was excellent!
