Self-Portrait Tuesday: Space Cadet

Today...

Today I feel a little bit exhausted, a little bit sad, a little bit hurt, and if I'm honest, a little bit foolish.

But I also feel determined, and eternally optimistic, and incredibly thankful, and excited and peaceful and fundamentally happy.

Because over the past few weeks I've realised that my happiness has nothing to do with how someone treats me, or the circumstances that life throws at me, and everything to do with how I react to those circumstances. And in a funny old twist, the person who taught me that lesson ended up being the one who caused me the pain. So in a strange way, I'm very grateful for him.
