Little town...
... it's a quiet village, every day, like the one before...
Bonus points to anyone who recognises the song.
Today I made another few small steps towards integrating myself in the little town where I've lived for the past few months. This morning I went and had my hair cut at the hairdresser just around the corner, which after 12 years of Belfast hairdressers was a big deal!
Then I called in to the Post Office, and had a nice chat with Cecil, the sub-postmaster. He's either a lot friendlier, or a lot nosier, than the post office people in Belfast, because during the time it took to post a package I'd answered enough questions to give him my full life story.
Next, I walked to the doctor's surgery and finally got myself registered there. He was also full of questions, so he got the life story too.
As an added bonus, I then helped my elderly neighbour into her apartment with her shopping. She always gets my life story, but never remembers, so I'm sure I'll be answering the same questions again next time.
I don't plan to live here forever, it's a little bit on the small and sleepy side for me, but since I'm going to be here for a while I thought I should actually show my face around the place now and again.
Oh... and I really don't like the haircut :)
