Ent
You could see how the Anglo-Saxons could have looked at trees such as this and invested them with mystical powers. Ent is Anglo-Saxon for giant. I didn't notice the lifelike features of this one until I downloaded my images. In Tolkien's Middle Earth Treebeard is the oldest of the Ents. I've no idea how many others we have in these parts.
