Mound Skyline

It's hard with a Calvinist upbringing in these northern isles not to feel just a little edgy when the weather is so wonderful in these first days of December.
There is sure to be a payback time for these cold clear days with blue skies and a bright low sun bathing the tops of the old stone buildings in the city centre in a golden glow.

That bad payback time may come this weekend, and if so I can relax thinking that we deserve every gust of wind and snow flake coming our way.
I imagine it would be hard to be a Calvinist in sunnier climes where good weather is taken for granted.

I had shopping to do in town and found it thronged with what can only have been tourists. The Christmas market areas were awash with slow moving people while the Wheel and Sky Flyer were pirouetting gently aloft.

I did notice with a smile that the tramlines were full of fallen leaves and wondered if 'leaves on the line' could be an excuse akin to that rolled out by the train companies if the trams were running late.

Now while His Lordship is striding over the heather, far removed from the tribulations of Christmas preparations, I must get back to printing, guillotining and gluing.

Despite the bright sunshine, the skyline at the top of the Mound was in deep shadow, with the sun low behind the buildings.
