I don't like to be beside the seaside ...

This early morning sighting is the Andean gull (Chroicocephalus serranus), which despite its name is not a seaside bird at all. It likes ‘very high elevations, usually no lower than 3,000m’, and ‘may be variously found around rivers, freshwater lakes, saline marshes, and pastureland’. What would we do without Wikipedia?
