What's Missing?
Is it still a Christmas Tree if it doesn't have a trunk, or is it a Christmas Cone? It's parky here today; not quite Edinburgh parky and certainly not Munich parky, but for soft, thin-blooded desert dwellers it's chilly. As luck would have it, we're off to see the annual luminaria display; combined this year with a display of glass art by a chappy called Dale Chihuly. That all happens tonight at the Botanical Garden, after the sun goes down on the coldest day of the winter so far, and it gets colder still. Might need a wee something to warm the cockles of my heart.
This is only the start of our weekend of culture. Saturday night will see us at the ballet, watching the Nutcracker, and Sunday it's Andrea Bocelli. I'm not sure I'll be able to lower myself to communicate with you lot after all that.
Friday's still free though - I expect we'll be in the pub, staying in touch with our roots, as it were.
