HONOURING MADIBA

This painting was done by a friend, Brian Rademeyer and hangs in the kitchen area of his Karoo cottage in Prince Albert. I have always admired it as it reflects the qualities that I most admire in Madiba. His humanity and his love of people, particularly children, shine out in his warm smile.
People have been telling their stories on the radio all morning. Each has a tale to tell of how he made them feel so special.
I never met the man but feel that he has inspired me with his ideal of reconciliation. Would that these ideals could be adopted in areas of conflict elsewhere in the world.
May we never forget the wonderful example he set by showing us through his life"s example, the power of reconcilliation.
