The mooring line

This shot is from the river after the water has retreated. Unfortunately there will be many houses around that will have the same mud and slime in the garden and indoors. Everything kicked off last night as I sat in a traffic jam in Boston. The river had burst its banks and there were sirens wailing and all the emergency services weaving in and out of the cars. A police vehicle towing inflatables passed by. The reason soon became obvious as water poured down the street. I was almost through the town at this point but had to drive the last bit through six inches of flowing water. It was quite alarming. The defences held this morning and so the cleaning up operation begins.
