The title is not my favourite tipple, but the name of this little dog! She belongs to a family who live along our road and I met her out for a walk today with one of them. Apparently she is 10 years old and is a Border Terrier/Jack Russell cross.

Found out on the web (Yahoo) that the awful weather that hit the east of the UK yesterday was the edge of Hurricane Xaver which has badly hit northern Europe - including Norway and Germany. There have been blizzards as well as the winds and the flooding. Now, I have been watching both Sky and News 24 and not a mention of Europe or of the hurricane. Why? You may well ask. Such is our media. And are hurricanes sweeping down from the Arctic something that usually happens? I've never heard of one before.

Tried to sort out Christmas cards this morning, got in a complete muddle and gave up - obviously not the day for it. Also tried doing some hoovering and the hoover gave up the ghost! Thinking about getting a Sebo hoover made in Germany, as Panasonic etc are made cheaply these days and tend to go up in smoke or the belts break a lot (so I've been reading on Amazon reviews). Our old Panasonic lasted for years.

At least it's been a nice sunny day today, so that's been nice.
