The bells

I think we bought these bells in Copenhagen, or maybe Amsterdam, several years ago. For some reason we hooked them on the back of the front door where they have been ever since. As you do.

They jingle slightly when the door is opened.

One of the cats had to be taken to the vet the other day due to having a dreadfully swollen and weepy eye (the result of a punchup with one of his brothers). A ten minute consultation - including extreme admiration from the vet due to Mr Pink's loud purr and excellent behaviour - and two items of medication left me financially traumatised.

Thankfully he is cooperating with the administration of the eye drops and magic thing I have to squirt on his tongue at mealtimes, and the eye looks much better.
