A Day At A Time.

Under A Rock

The internet man cam again today. Now we have five megas with a new antenna to add to the forest already on the roofs of the houses. But for such speed here, I would have put up with Jodrel Bank - again.

I went into Gib to meet Jacqui after she finished work and to do some Christmas shopping in Main Street. After we'd pottered about, had a coffee-and-cake stop, and then done Morrisons, we took the bus to the border to find the queue stretched all the way past the new airport terminal!

With heavy hearts we stood in the cold, prepared for a 90 minute wait to cross back into Spain. But fortunately, the Guardia had got bored by this time, and in fact it took us barely 15 minutes before we were back in the car park on the Spanish side.

I think about 90% of the people in the queue were Spanish shoppers taking advantage of the bank holiday to shop in Gibraltar.

I don't know why they put up with it. In the UK, there would have been riots by now.
