Wholesome Poulsom

Baby chat

So we are vaguely vaguely trying to set up a few patterns in our and baby S's life. Having taken care of feeding through the night, I am treated to breakfast in bed courtesy of 77 and then he moseys off to work at about 8. If I,m lucky baby S will sleep for another hour or so, if not then the day begins for both of us at half 7. We kick off with some wailing followed by some feeding and changing and then a bit of play. Baby S is not quite up to scrabble or trivial pursuit at this stage so we go for something a bit simpler like looking out the window, allowing him to grip my fingers with his hand and gently waving a black and white toy at him. If he sleeps then I can have a luxurious shower, if he doesn't then its more of a 2 minute affair before sprinting back up stairs to reassure him that I haven't abandoned him and gone out for sushi. By lunchtime both of us are generally washed and in our outfits for the day.

Today, it being Wednesday, I caught up with the girls from the antenatal class, always a good opportunity to quiz those who have slightly older babies about what is going on with baby S and what changes to expect and how we can remedy the trying evening crying (apparently there is no remedy, bugger!).
