Impromptu Nite Out

A friend rang earlier in the day & we arranged to go to Rottingdean's"smugglers" 500th celebrations. I wore my new hat & scarf & new walking boots which I spotted in the shop first thing, a lucky find as I'd been looking for some time for the "right thing".

We started in the The Rottingdean Club for a pint & others joined us, it was very cosy next to an open fire. There were 2 processions along the high street which was very atmospheric. The congregation moved to the war memorial to acknowledge the villagers that died at the hands of William The Conquer back in the day, a lady sang "abide by me" - I was very moved.

The finale was a grand display of fireworks on the beach.
