Greenland Dock

This has become one of my favourite bird watching spots in London. It's the home of the Surrey Docks Watersports Centre and there are some boats moored at the end closer to the Thames. It is peaceful and there are lots of cormorants and several Great Crested Grebes around. I like diving birds because they are distinctive streamlined shapes and you have to be quick to spot them before they dive again. Then you never know where they are going to pop up.

I did a few other things today but walking around here was the highlight. I took this as the sun was setting.
