The Court House.

This beautiful building, used to be the police station and Magistrates Court. It is a Victorian Grade 11 listed building. It stands on the corner of Derwen Road and Court Road. It was built in 1887 . I can remember it being the local police station and when the station relocated further up the road to Cheapside, ( as it was known at the time) it was then converted to an upmarket bistro / bar. It was the place to eat out. I went there many times for work related functions. Sadly it is now closed, and not used for anything as far as i can tell. In 1997 it won the Bridgends first Civic Trust Award. There is a plaque on the wall which you can just make out. It is a very impressive building.
