Lake Zurich

We were greeted this morning by clear blue sky and sunshine which made such a contrast to the rain and the low cloud of the last couple of days. We walked down to the Lake to be greeted with clear views out across the water all the way up to the mountains. The Old Town also looked different bathed in sunshine and we then went back up to the Christmas markets to have wurst with bread and mustard. The stall holder gave us the full history of wurst and how it is served differently in other European cities. It was lovely and we followed is up with a butter pretzel.

We had a quick look around the Swiss Craft Centre but decided to invest some of our money in one of the amazing Swiss chocolate shops we had popped into the day before. The smell in the shop was wonderful and it was coming from the taps pouring out warm chocolate where they were hand making the chocolates. The man making them looked just like the master chocolatier on the Lindt advert and was very happy to be photographed at work. I think I will need to do a lot of walking over the next few days!
