Marsh Tit

No apologies for another bird - I haven't ringed one of these since far off days in Gloucestershire probably forty years ago. Today however one appeared in the nets by the kitchen here. Although not the most flamboyant of birds, to my eye their scarcity gives them a certain cachet.
Always a worry is it a Marsh Tit, is it a Willow Tit, but this one was obliging coming up as Marsh Tit on the all the criteria I could find. Colour of cheeks, side of bib, colour of cap, shape of cap, some tail measurements, wing length amongst others.
We caught it when local ringing friends we had met in Portugal this Summer were here so glad to have other eyes looking at it. It isn't a photograph of my hand for the first time for a long time!
