Carols. lights.wind and rain!

After a toy service and nativity this morning it was time for the village Christmas lights switch on and the singing of carols around the tree.

Nature had other ideas - it was windy and the heavens opened. It was decided to do the carols in church to keep everyone warm and dry. There was a large crowd of adults and children in various forms of outdoor wear to protect against the elements, plus prams, dogs etc etc!

After a good sing song everyone went back outside where a young man who had won the draw at the gala disco got to flick the large switch to turn on the lights. The photo doesn't do the lights justice as the wind was blowing the tree around so the main lights are somewhat blurred.

Then it was back into the family room for wine and mince pies. An enjoyable interlude!
