Baby Matters

4years 47days

This lot have "known" each other since birth. Literally. They are the firstborns of our post-natal group. It was wonderful to meet such a good group of mums. And for the children to have such a lovely group of friends in each other. They play brilliantly. Like lifelong friends I guess! There are 3 more baby girls to the number. But I liked this one of the original monkeys together for our Christmas Party today.

A wonderful and equally busy day. Ballet. Countdown very much on to the exam performance next weekend. They did their class rehearsals and then went to the main studio to practice on the practice performance area and for inspection by the principal! She was absolutely bouncing when she came back to me.

We rushed to the train and headed to Scarborough to find our friends. Ballet had meant the others had eaten lunch when we arrived but there was pizza and corn on the cobs for Katie to munch still. A little treasure hunt went down very well. The children went into a huddle, whispering together. They nominated Oscar as spokesman to come tell the mothers that it was definitely time for pass the parcel. His poor mum dug in her already bought and wrap present pile and rapidly created a pass the parcel. They had a great time playing in their huge garden before we had to leave. Much earlier than we'd have liked. When we get together, we realise how much we love all being together!!

That said, heading home was exciting too. Because when we got to our house, the JumpingBeans had arrived!! They were coming for a sleepover for the weekend. The children ate big bowls of pasta & cheese each and had lovely play in the bath before a very tired Katie made it exceptionally clear that it was bed time. What a day!
