My Pal Birgit is a Star

This dropped through my letter box this morning from my creative pal Birgit. She's kindly sticking with me as I grapple with Arthritis. We've know each other since the late 70's when she was very instrumental in setting up Haringay's Womens Centre. One day she said " come on I'm going to start a squat ", So Shaftesbury Road housing CO-OP got born. 35 yrs on Birgit still lives there and a 30year re-hap happened creating a load of wonderful flats and houses from derelict huge Victorian houses, where RD Laing had a therapeutic community for a while.
She's still grappling with shared housing, which I gave up on a long time ago : too much for me!.
My good GP rang this morning ( thank god ) and agreed to have my hip and knee re-xrayed and to increase pain control. I told him I didn't give a damm about addiction, I simply want to be in less pain!!.
Tellingly, before he rang I was floundering around wondering what on earth to blip. Having been listened and responded too, this came to me!!
