A lamp, a lamp, my kingdom for a lamp

For years I've been looking for a nice bedside lamp. One that's soothing on the eyes yet bright enough to read by. An old fashioned bulb - or as old fashioned as they get these days - rather than LED. Don't get me wrong, I've nothing against LED but, at day's end, I want a hand soothing my brow not a boot to the kidneys.

Wherefore art thou, oh beauteous beacon of gentle light?
