MEMORIAL

Went down to the Sidwell Community Center to sign the condolences book for Nelson Mandela.
All radio and local TV stations carried stories and images of the memorial service. Barak Obama's oration was memorable. I had to laugh though as there was a big window behind the speaker and one could see people waving flags, dancing and singing. While Obama was speaking one of the dancers suddenly realized that he could see himself on the image on the TV screen. He tried a few experimental waves which grew in enthusiasm as the minutes ticked by. By the end of the speech he was blowing extravagant kisses to any interested viewers.
When Zuma appeared to make his speech someone had hung some long cloths up. I wondered if some ladies were minus their lovely turbans.
