The Remembering Tree

A bit of colour has cropped up in Bancroft Gardens – this is the reason….

Each square is dedicated to celebrating someone’s loved one.

The tree will remain decorated for the duration of Christmas and into the New Year. The Remembering Tree is a place to reflect and celebrate those you love, have loved and lost, and everything else in between. Each of the squares forming the Yarn Bombed tree has been knitted in South Africa by woman from poor communities to help boost their income. After we take the decoration down, the wool will be washed and recycled for either blankets to be sent to Sierra Leone or a homeless charity in the local area.

All the funds raised will go to GAGA UK’s work in Africa. Thank You.
