Tibbles in the garden
My lens is fixed! Or replaced, to be accurate. Whatever, it works, I'm happy.
I got a lot done today - it's made me feel quite accomplished! It was all just things like banking and work stuff and taking my lens into the camera shop, but it was nice to tick things off my to-do list. I also helped Dad make his famous Christmas cake which was fun. It made the house smell beautiful and it makes me sad that we'll have to wait until Christmas to eat it. I don't even really like Christmas cake, but the magic of December 25th makes food you wouldn't usually eat taste good!
I had a quiet evening watching The Bling Ring, which I meant to see at the cinema but missed. It was weirdly awesome and I think I loved it most for the acting - Emma Watson is fab, of course, but Katie Chang and Israel Broussard, who play the actual main characters, are amazing. The pace was kind of choppy and weird, but I think that's a Sofia Coppola thing - her movies always feel slightly off-beat. I think I just loved the movie because the story is so ridiculous and outside my frame of knowledge that you can't even believe it's based on real events. Also, I love Sofia Coppola regardless of how her films are. She's so inspiring and interesting, I don't really care if her pacing is choppy!
It's so nice to be shooting at 1.8 again...I missed my lens even though it only broke last Monday. Anyway, I just wanted a photo with the lens and Tibbles happened to be around.
