Happy Birthday Chandru (for tomorrow!)
But his surprise birthday party was this evening, because tomorrow he will be running Circling for Floorball in his role as social secretary. Which I will be at as well, but it was nice to be at this other party too. Rahul, to my surprise, had managed to keep everything under wraps (he usually isn’t massively good at keeping a secret!) so when Chandru arrived with Emily, he actually asked who the birthday cake was for! That is Chandru all over though, a lovely guy with a massively generous heart…but also unassuming too, how many people think their surprise party is for someone else? Anyhows, Emily had baked this beautiful coffee cake for this party, and it was amazing…I really need to get the recipe for it!
Before I headed to the party, Hugo came over and, well…Clare came into my room, and we shared a glass of gin and tonic while chatting about random events and occurrences of the week. Hugo also brought with him a box of wine (not that we’ve opened it yet!) to pay back the flat for the amount of wine that he has drank since the beginning of term (not an alcoholic, just at ours a lot!)…and also a fridge magnet proclaiming “Have we no wine here?”, a quote from Act I Scene 9 of Shakespeare’s Coriolanus. Probably sums up the flat quite well.
Rest of the day was standard long Tuesday, no more to say.
