Spray

10.5C starting pleasantly enough but turning windy, then windier and wet.

Apothecary7 has a long weekend with her day off for this week today and for next week on Monday. Hooray !

I think Maeve the Deerhound has a more settled night although she did get up and wanted to go outside at 5am. She has been sleeping deeply for a while as we have taken the momentous decision to leave the heating on all afternoon and the house is warm to say the least.

This morning we went to M&S at city quay in Dundee. Thats as near the city centre as I want to get when people are doing Christmas shopping. I like online shopping. No crowds. Browse at leisure. Someone brings it all to me.

On the way home we stopped in Carnoustie to get Christmas stamps from the Post Office. None. Ordinary stamps only.

We had parked the car in one of the seafront car parks so on the way back to the car we were able to get a blip of the waves as the wind started to get up for this afternoon's gale. The tide was high and the spray was flying over the sea wall at the main beach which was completely under water. By 4 pm winds had reached a mean level of 35 mph with gusts of up to 49 mph (Met Office data from Leuchars).
