Canal at Cropredy

Met up with my sisters, mum and nephews at a pub in Cropredy for a pre-Christmas get-together. Cropredy was chosen as a sort of half way place between the families and I'd never been there before - it's a small village near Banbury and home to the Fairport Convention's annual festival. It looked a lovely place and before meeting the family. we just had time for a walk along the towpath (on the right of the photo) where we saw a canal boat marina, with hundreds of canal boats settled there presumably for the winter season. Some had satellite dishes and some obviously had log-burning stoves as we saw smoke rising out of the small chimneys. An unexpected and delightful start to the day....
