"Jesus Is The Reason For The Season"

Have had a very fraught day dealing with Mother's social worker and relating stuff to my sisters. Not been out with the camera. :(

I made a mountain of Frenchman Richard Bertinet's ultimate mince pies yesterday. They're topped with frangipane containing Poire William liqueur instead of pastry. Bit of a sticky fiddle but they do taste gorgeous and have a lovely soft texture. I made a forest of the more conventional ones too.

I've pictured a couple on my Villeroy & Boch Naif Christmas plate that my daughter bought for me to go with my dinner service. I love it. Love the little dogs and I've never noticed the owl before.

I'm not religious but believe in upholding traditions. Jesus is the reason for the season. I'm not telling mince pies when I say that I've made little pie mangers in the past, complete with baby Jesuses asleep in shredded wheat hay.
