Toothless
Toothless isn't actually her name. She doesn't technically have a name. We went to Newport yesterday to pick her up from her mommy and daddy. Looks like shes gravid too. There's a little chubby patch at the base of her tummy that sticks out juuuuust enough to say she's showing. So, we may have eggs too and be caring for some of these little things as hatchlings.
Toothless isn't our girl, nor are the five snakes we picked up yesterday. The snakes are going up for auction for our local herp society. We owe it a big one to the folks we picked up these animals from. They have been a huge help with all the volunteering and donations they've done. Great people. We were more than happy to foster their little red eyed croc skink girl.
She looks and fairly well acts like a mini aligator. Her scales are hard, too just as you'd imagine. Even under her belly and chin! I've looked for a soft velvety part of her, trust me, and it doesn't exist haha. She's very well plated.
I love her, though. She kind of barks at you when she wants you to know to leave her be. Which we are. We didn't get any barking during this short photoshoot, lucky us, but we put her back for safe keeping and to allow her to settle in since she hasn't eaten since she got here. That could also be because she's gravid, too though.
