Art on the beach

Having been a regular visitor to the beach, it always surprises me how quickly really large pieces of stuff are deposited one day and then swept away again the next.

And often, there are pieces of driftwood creatively adapted by humans. This one is particularly impressive - that is one LARGE standing log. And it has Xmas ornaments too, so someone came prepared.

It makes me wonder about all the academic study that has gone into figuring out the alignment of ancient standing stones. Maybe those guys too were just messing about, because they could...?
