Torn Bark

As the garden develops, I have been keen to ensure there is some winter interest. And there are little spots of delight around the place if the weather allows a pause long enough to appreciate their offering.

This is a shot of a cherry tree which is discarding last year's tired grey bark and is revealing it's gloriously red(ish) 2014 coat. Just the right time of year for a fresh start.

It is a Tibetan cherry and this reminded me of prayer flags flashing in the wind.
