Inner City Seaside

One advantage of a newish city is that it can be planned - central Brisbane is such a city which ensures a people-friendly central area. You can swim (for free) from this man-made beach at South Bank, just a bridge or ferry hop away from the city centre.

Also on South Bank is the cultural district including theatres and art galleries - which is where I was this morning to see a new art installation by Cai Guo-Qiang - it was amazing!
